How does it compare to other steam irons?

Rowenta DG8520 Perfect Steam Iron versus Rowenta DW5080 Focus Iron

We are going a little more budget with this comparison. The DW5080 Focus Steam Iron is considerably cheaper than the Rowenta DG8520, so for some who think an iron is just an iron, this will be a huge pro. However, for those who enjoy ironing, or have to do it on a regular basis, spending a bit extra on the product can be totally worth it.

Although the Rowenta DW5080 Focus Iron has many good features (such as the same 400 microhole patented Microsteam soleplate as the Rowenta DW5080 Perfect Steam) it is not a steam iron that is in the same league as the DW5080 Perfect Steam.

There’s no large water tank meaning that less ironing can be done without filling up and also there’s a lot less steam power. Although for the price it does offer decent powerful bursts of steam for stubborn creases.

Rowenta DG8520 Perfect Steam Iron versus Dupray Steam Iron Steam Generator Iron

Both of these steam irons have a similar price tag (and at first look similar features) but how do they compare?

The Rowenta DG8520 has a powerful 1800 watts, whereas the Dupray Steam Iron comes up short at 1750 watts.

The Dupray Steam Iron, however, is slightly lighter, weighing only 11 pounds compared to the DG8520 which weighs 12.2 pounds.

The DG8520 has a great ironing time of up to 1.5 hours, but the Dupray can only last for 60 minutes.

Compared to the DG8520, the Dupray falls short in other areas including its steam pressure – with 3.5 bars, the Rowenta wins with 5 bars.

One good benefit to the Dupray Steam Iron is that it features a cork handle, so it’s less likely to heat up and also comfortable to grip.

Between the two we are still heading towards the DG8520 as the better steam iron.

Should I buy the Rowenta DG8520 Perfect Steam Iron?

If your budget is ~$300 then you can’t go wrong with this popular iron.

When we compared the Rowenta DG8520 against other competitors the specs and quality held up.

It has a large, removable 47oz water tank, it’s 1800w, it has a steam output of 120g/min with an exceptional 5.2 bars of pressure, a 400 hole micro steam soleplate, an eco-friendly setting that can save you 20% on energy and many other great features.
